Gulfport is an eclectic little beach town on Boca Ciega Bay, right between the St Pete beach and Downtown St Pete. With a population of about 12,00 this quaint little beach town will capture your heart! It’s one of our fave places to spend the mornings or a day outing with the kids! It has a skate park, beach park, beach area, a fishing pier, and a fabulous downtown area. You can easily spend the morning, or spend the whole day in Gulfport!

Our first stop in a day out in Gulfport is the Skate Park! With stunning views of the bay and the perfect skate park for all ages, the Gulfport Skate Park is the place to go! The boys love practicing with their skate boards and scooters on the ramps and half pipes. And the local skaters are so kind to little ones, the older ones always offer to help my boys, and they clap and cheer along when they master a new move! Another great thing about the Gulfport Skate Park is if you come on a weekday morning, it’s usually empty. My kids love to just run on the ramps and run up the halfpipe. It’s a perfect place for a morning out with mommy and me!

The Gulfport Beach Park is a super fun park right on the bay as well! The park equipment is shaped like a giant pirate ship, and my children can easily spend hours here! Since the park is right on the bay, it’s a sand park, which my kids love as well. You can bring some buckets and shovels and build sandcastles and play in the sand!

Downtown Gulfport is a fun place to spend some time as well! There are delicious restaurants, cute small owned shops, coffee shops, breweries, it is a wonderful downtown area! And every Tuesday is the Gulfport Tuesday Morning Market where the downtown street is lined with tons of amazing vendors! I love to go and buy some plants from Chucks Plants!

We also love Gulfport for the fishing pier! This is my husband and my kids favorite activity. The pier is a great place to catch fish, and super easy for kids! And we almost always catch a fish. We’ve caught many different types of fish like Mangrove Snapper, Pin Fish, Flounder, Catfish, Red Fish, and even a few sting ray! We always catch and release and make sure to not leave any mess behind. Grab some bait and head to the pier for some fun family fishing!

Since Gulfport is right on the bay, it has a little beach area! Cleaned daily, it’s always a nice area. I love to watch the boats go by, and my kids love to play on the sand and walk + look for shells or sea creatures. It’s also a beautiful place to watch the sunrise! 🌅
